Auckland University Mechanical Laboratories Relocation and Upgrade

SPIIND was contracted by Auckland University to relocate all its Thermodynamics, Thermo, Thermofluids and other Mechanical Laboratories spread across Auckland and to consolidate these all into new premises at Newmarket in Auckland. The scope of works included relocating a wide range of test equipment including Dynamometers, Boiler, Compressors, Earthquake Simulator, Gantry Cranes, Water Flumes and various test cells. The largest piece of equipment, a 45m long glass sided Water Flume was along with other flumes and equipment completely refurbished and upgraded to current seismic and electrical standards.

Marsden B Power Station Dismantling

SPIIND was contracted to dismantle and ship Marsden B, a 250 Megawatt Oil Fired Power Station to India by Mighty River Power following its sale to an Indian client. The scope of works included the complete dismantling, including significant asbestos removal management, packing and shipping the power station with documented methodology for rebuild in India by others.
